Anti-Racist Sub-Committee 2026-2028

The EIS Anti-Racist Sub Committee advises the Equality Committee on race equality projects, policies and campaigns.

The EIS Anti-Racist Sub Committee advises the Equality Committee on race equality projects, policies and campaigns. Its membership is drawn from the Equality Committee and also from among the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) members of the union.

The following members will serve as co-opted members during the period 2026-2028: 

  • Sara Akhtar (Scottish Borders)
  • Nelson Chapisa (North East Scotland College)
  • Anita Mackenzie (UHI Perth)
  • Khadija Mohammed (University of the West of Scotland)
  • Nuzhat Uthmani (Glasgow)

The members of the Equality Committee who will serve on the Anti-Racist Sub Committee during the 2026-2027 session are:

  • Nicola Fisher (Glasgow)
  • Farhat Ali (Glasgow)
  • Sharon Iddir (Fife)
  • Yasmin Murray (Renfrewshire)
  • Sunita Nayyer (South Lanarkshire)
