Anti-Racist Sub-Committee 2024-26

The EIS Anti-Racist Sub Committee advises the Equality Committee on race equality projects, policies and campaigns.

The EIS Anti-Racist Sub Committee advises the Equality Committee on race equality projects, policies and campaigns. Its membership is drawn from the Equality Committee and also from among the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) members of the union.

The following members will serve as co-opted members during the period 2024-2026:

National Officers Augestad and Harvey were in Dundee yesterday for Education Scotland's Anti-Racist Leadership event speaking to Headteachers about how we can disrupt disinformation and implement strategic social dialogue for equality.

The EIS has issued formal 10-day notice of its intention to call its members to take industrial action over workload.

The industrial action will include national days of strike action, additional days of strike action in key target areas, and an ongoing national programme of
