Anti-Racist Sub-Committee 2024-26

The EIS Anti-Racist Sub Committee advises the Equality Committee on race equality projects, policies and campaigns.

The EIS Anti-Racist Sub Committee advises the Equality Committee on race equality projects, policies and campaigns. Its membership is drawn from the Equality Committee and also from among the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) members of the union.

The following members will serve as co-opted members during the period 2024-2026:

Poverty invades every aspect of a young person’s life and cannot be left at the classroom door. The EIS supports the launch of CPAG’s School Shouldn’t Cost Manifesto and calls on the Scottish Government to end child and family poverty once and for all.

Current employer and trade union guidance for reducing teacher workload has not been effective – contractual changes are needed to guarantee workload reduction. Vote YES for the manifesto-promised contractual change, to less teaching time and more preparation time.
